last night i concluded my third installment of seeing the lifesong tour; i was not disappointed. youd think that seeing pretty much the same set (minus a few songs) and the same talks would get boring right? well some parts were, but you cant get sick of great music. no matter how much the radio overplays a song, it will always be amazing live. thats all i gotta say about that. on to the night...
our first time ever eating at red robin - which is now designated as our "pre-concert" eatery forever. the manager swiped susan's basket before she was done, so he brought us some peanut butter ice cream cake to make up for it - it was GINORMOUS!!
as well as tasty and satisfying.
then we headed over to the venue... had to pay for parking and we were far away - thanks a lot aliant energy center. found our seats, and met annette! then we bumped into josh bates and talked to him for a little bit before he went on. he was great - i wish he would have got to play more songs and nicole did less :) she just didnt do it for me. i yawned too many times to count. during her set my friends and i all agreed that building 429 was a much better fit for the tour - oh well, what can ya do right?
there was a short lil turn-around time during which they played the american dream video. now the last times i saw this tour, when they played it everyone in the crowd was clapping and singing along to it. this night = nothing. i knew the crowd was gonna be a sleeper and prolly not stand much ( i hate being right). we only stood for a couple songs and only because mark said for everyone to stand. he should have just said we had to stand the whole time haha that would have been great. anyways, they sounded great, no major sound issues (my ears did start to hurt just a tad towards the end and this morning they are ringing slightly, but its a good ring) and the lighting was right on.
tony man, i tried to find ya to say hi but you were nowhere to be found... but josh did say he would say hey for me. if he didnt... hey :)
during the first song we wore our burger king crowns and hector gave us a shout-out... good times good times.
some sweet lights and one of the only good pix of hector - sorry dude - you were too far away!
once again, great talk from tony... lots of great facial expressions also. this being the 3rd time seeing this tour w/ my buds (shout out to nicole and susan!) we all agreed that the alter call time is a tad bit confusing. i will explain: the first time we heard it in rockford, IL, we didnt realize that is was meant for (at least what we gathered after it was all overwith) "first-timers," if you will. i prayed the prayer, i raised my hand, i stood up... then when tony said we have all these new brothers and sisters we all kinda looked at each other thinking "oops!" cuz we've (well i know i have) given my life to christ like 492 times at just about every concert or gathering. so on to the 2nd concert... we were all like, okay, we really need to listen this time and see if he says first timers or whatever... so we did, and we all gave the "im still confused" look to each other haha maybe we arent the sharpest knives in the drawer, but i like to think we are able to listen and follow directions. anyways, this probably doesnt make much sense but at least i have cole and susan who know what im talking about. we had a nice discussion about it on our car ride back home and it was unanimous that it was still confusing lol
loved when all the girls were singing... so soothing. one of the highlights of the night, but i did miss hearing and now my lifesong sings during this part. i will get over it though ;)
the drum solo + star wars shirt - the cheesehead = great entertainment.
who knew there was a super hero on the tour? i for one, had no clue.
juan got some major air... not the best picture but ya get the idea.

while waiting in the m&g line we talked to josh again and met some other nice people. i had to run to the car to get the guitar and luckily i got back in w/ out any security guard issues. just about all of the band asked how the "gang" was doing. it took me till just about the end of the line before i figured out they meant the fish gang (danny, margo & D) yea, see im not very sharp afterall. andy started to sign the guitar over by chris tomlin, and i was like... dude, you cant just leave your band like that! and he did the "deer in the headlights" look and was like... ohh i am so sorry! then he pretty much smacked his head down on the table lol it was all good though, cuz i know this little secret... and i will share it w/ you: aerosol hairspray removes permanent marker! (on most shiney surfaces like cds) so have no fear... the guitar shows no signs of a random name that is not in chris tomlins band.
annette and josh
and mwah w/ josh
i have no complaints other than cc didnt play nearly as long as they should have. yeah. thats really all i got. i have lots more pix that are good... when i have more time i will make another installment.
